What Happened

Van Alstyne Police are investigating a crash that injured two women at Hwy 75 and Van Alstyne Pkwy in Van Alstyne, TX on July 20th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6 p.m. Investigators allege a vehicle operated by 54-year-old Katherine Jones collided with the rear of another vehicle. The impact sent the struck vehicle down an embankment. The vehicle is said to have caught fire and the occupants were able to escape the vehicle. Two children were evaluated at the scene. Both drivers, including Jones, were hospitalized with unknown injuries. Reports indicate Jones was charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
