What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at TX 64 in Smith County, TX on June 23rd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 5:47 a.m. An International MV607 operated by a 62-year-old Quinlan man reportedly failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of a Dodge Ram 3500 operated by 47-year-old Ty Lewis Tompkins. The Dodge was pushed from the road into a ditch, causing minor injuries to both Tompkins and a passenger, 22-year-old Colby Elkins Tompkins. The truck driver was evaluated for possible injuries and charged with Failure to Control Speed.
