Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at State Hwy 19 in Hopkins County, TX on March 5th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9:59 p.m. Police say a Toyota Camry operated by 27-year-old Tyler Chester was headed northbound in a southbound lane of State Hwy 19. It then collided head-on with a southbound Chevrolet Malibu operated by 68-year-old Wilma Lane. Lane was seriously injured in the crash while Chester, who police believe may have been under the influence of alcohol, suffered fatal injuries. Additional information was not available.
