What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 73 in Port Arthur, TX on April 3rd, 2022. Officials are saying the incident happened around 9:20 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 39-year-old Thomas Kent was headed westbound on Hwy 73 while a Dodge Charger operated by 19-year-old Tyson Clemmons was headed eastbound. Police believe the Silverado failed to control its speed and veered through the connecting median into eastbound traffic and collided head-on with the Charger. Clemmons was seriously injured in the collision. Kent suffered possible injuries and reports indicate charges of DWI and Intoxication Assault were recommended and/or issued.
