Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at  I-30 in Garland, TX on February 23rd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9:46 a.m. Police say a tractor-trailer operated by an unidentified 44-year-old man was headed westbound on I-30 when it began to slow due to ice on the roadway. An approaching Kia Forte operated by 23-year-old Umar Malick is accused of following too closely before it collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer. Malick suffered serious injuries in the collision. The other driver was not injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
