What Happened

Authorities have information on a crash that killed one person involved at I-69 in Harris County, TX on December 29th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:13 p.m. According to investigators, a  northbound Chevrolet Equinox is said to have lost control for unconfirmed reasons before colliding with the rear of a Chevrolet Trailblazer. Following the collision, reports say the Equinox left the roadway and collided with a utility pole. The impact left the driver of the Equinox, 48-year-old U'nicika Howard, seriously injured. Reports say Howard died shortly after arrival at an area hospital. The occupants of the Trailblazer, who were not publicly identified, were both allegedly uninjured.
