What Happened

Luling Police arrested a driver in connection with a crash at TX 80 in Caldwell County, TX on October 2nd, 2021. They say the incident happened around 10:41 p.m. A Dodge Ram 1500 operated by 32-year-old Uriel Guillen Castillo was traveling southeast on TX 80 when it veered onto the opposite side of the road and struck a guardrail. After a front left tire became detached as a result, the vehicle continued into a ditch and crashed through a fence before coming to stop in a field. Investigators say Castillo attempted to leave the scene but was later apprehended. He suffered serious injuries and was charged with Failure to Drive in Single Lane, Possession of Marijuana and Failure to Comply With Requirements Striking Structure.
