Authorities in Bailey County, TX, are investigating a serious rear-end collision that occurred on December 31, 2024, at approximately 9:16 p.m. on U.S. Highway 70. A Dodge Charger was traveling east when it failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of a  Buick Lucerne. The crash resulted in suspected serious injuries to a 22-year-old male occupant of the Dodge and the 39-year-old driver of the Buick, identified das Vanessa Garcia. Additionally, a 41-year-old passenger, Joseph Garcia, sustained a possible injury, and a 9-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. The incident was associated with the vehicle’s movement, failure to control speed, and the presence of alcohol.  The driver of the Dodge was charged with intoxication assault.
