What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at Loop 1604 in San Antonio, TX on February 11th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 11:48 p.m. According to police, a GMC Yukon was unoccupied in the road when it was struck by a Chevrolet Malibu operated by 22-year-old Aaron Vallejo. Investigators allege that Vallejo exhibited signs of intoxication at the scene and determined that the unoccupied vehicle operator had been 25-year-old Victor Ramirez, which had become inoperable due to a flat tire. Ramirez had reportedly been on-foot near the vehicle at the time of the collision and was struck in the collision, suffering life-threatening injuries. Ramirez was transported to an area hospital and later died from his injuries. Police say a Driving While Intoxicated report was filled against Vallejo.
