Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at Military Rd in Hidalgo County, TX on July 24th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3:24 a.m. According to investigators, a Volkswagen Taos operated by 32-year-old Andres Aguirre Zertuche was headed eastbound on Military Rd behind a motorcycle when the motorcycle slowed to avoid colliding with a border patrol vehicle ahead. The Taos reportedly failed to control its speed and collided with the motorcycle, pushing it into the border patrol vehicle. The motorcyclist, identified as 37-year-old Victor Vazquez Garza, suffered serious injuries. Reports indicate both drivers were suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash and that charges were recommended and/or issued.
