Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed two people at FM 517 in Galveston County, TX on August 12th, 2023. Police believe the accident happened around 7:56 p.m. According to investigators, a motorcycle operated bt 18-year-old Chase Grob was eastbound, approaching a curve in the roadway. Stopped at a northbound stop sign at the intersection with 22nd St was a Kia Sorento operated by 37-year-old Robert Berg. Officials allege a van near the Sorento was attempting a southbound turn onto 22nd Street, possibly obstructing visibility before the Kia entered westbound onto FM 517. Upon doing so, investigators say the vehicle was struck by the motorcycle. The crash left both Grob and a passenger, 25-year-old Victoria Baker, with fatal injuries. Berg had non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials. Additional information was not available.
