What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at Tradewind St and 46th Ave in Amarillo, TX on June 20th, 2021. The collision is said to have occurred around 7 p.m. A Kenworth tractor-trailer operated by a 43-year-old Amarillo man reportedly ran a stop sign at the intersection while headed southbound. The truck collided with an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado preparing to turn northbound onto Tradewind. The the driver of the Silverado, 29-year-old Victorina Samaniego, suffered serious injuries in the collision. The Amarillo man was unharmed and issued a citation for running the stop sign.
