Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 36 in Comanche County, TX on August 9th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 3:28 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer is alleged to have failed to control its speed as it approached other vehicles. As the truck braked, police say it attempted to steer right in an effort to avoid a collision before striking the side of a Chevrolet Colorado operated by 75-year-old James Ward. A passenger int he Chevrolet, identified as 73-year-old Virginia Ward, had suspected serious injuries while Mr. Ward was evaluated for possible injuries. Sources indicate a Failure to Control Speed charge was recommended and/or issued.
