What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a collision that killed a woman at US 259 near Kilgore, TX on May 18th, 2022. Police say th eincident happened sometime before 11:15 a.m. Their investigation revealed a southbound pickup operated by 56-year-old Vivian Swaim allegedly drifting into oncoming traffic and collided with the left side of a northbound dump truck. Swaim was taken to an area hospital with injuries she died from. A 2-year-old passenger in the vehicle was hospitalized in critical condition while the dump truck driver was hospitalized in stable condition. Additional information was not available.
