Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a woman at County Rd 270 in Midland County, TX on December 20th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:55 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer was headed southbound on Hwy 349, turning onto County Rd 270. Reports allege the truck failed to control its speed and veered from the road in order to avoid striking other vehicles. Police say the vehicle veered towards and struck a Dodge Ram 3500 before overturning into a nearby utility pole. A 30-year-old woman occupying the Dodge was seriously injured, reports say, while a second 30-year-old passenger had less serious injuries. The truck operator was allegedly uninjured and sources indicate a Failure to Control Speed charge was recommended and/or issued against the driver. Additional inflation was not immediately available.
