What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at Loop 463 in Victoria, TX on January 15th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3 a.m. A Jeep Cherokee operated by a 26-year-old Victoria man was traveling eastbound on Loop 463 when it lost control at a curve in the road. It struck a road barrier before taking evasive action and overcorrecting. It then struck the right side of the barrier, continued forward and struck the left side of the barrier before hitting the right side again. Investigators allege the driver, who suffered serious injuries, was intoxicated while driving. A 22-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries. Records indicate a charge of Driving While Intoxicated was recommended and/or issued.
