Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a woman at US 83 in Webb County, TX on December 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6:33 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 1500 was westbound on US 83 before coming to a stop, waiting to make a left turn. As the vehicle was stopped, reports say the vehicle was rear-ended by an approaching tractor-trailer. The impact is said to have pushed the Dodge from the road into a shoulder, leaving the 55-year-old woman operating the vehicle, with serious injuries. The other driver, age 41 and not publicly identified, was allegedly uninjured. Sources indicate a Failure to Control Speed charge was recommended and/or issued against the tractor-trailer operator.
