What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a hit-and-run situation that injured a woman at Bowie Rd in Brownsville, TX on October 29th, 2021. Police say the incident happened when a Chevrolet Equinox operated by 21-year-old Ricardo Gonzalez Jr collided with a Toyota Corolla. The Equinox had been reportedly speeding at the time and Gonzalez is said to have attempted to flee after the collision but was kept at the scene by witnesses. Responding officers say there was strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath and person at the scene and he was later arrested for intoxication assault. The woman in the Toyota was hospitalized with serious facial injuries.
