What Happened

Police say an arraignment is set for a driver in connection with a hit-and-run collision at Alamo Rd in Edinburg, TX in August 2021. Police say a vehicle operated by Carlos Rodriguez Santiago was responsible for causing the death of a pregnant 18-year-old woman. The woman was with another woman pumping gas when they were struck by Santiago's vehicle, which police say the fled the scene after the collision. The pregnant woman and her baby were killed. The other woman survived with undisclosed injuries. Police say Santiago is being charges with tampering with evidence and failure to stop and render aid.
