What Happened

Surfside Beach Police are investigating a pedestrian accident that killed a woman at Bluewater Hwy in Surfside Beach, TX on May 29th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:45 a.m. Investigators say an unidentified female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle under unclear circumstances, suffering fatal injuries in the collision. The driver reportedly attempted to flee the scene before he was later placed under arrest. Police say the driver, a man in his 20's, was in possession of drugs and allegedly admitted to being intoxicated. They add the man was arrested on charges that include intoxication manslaughter and possession of a controlled substance.
