What Happened

Officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-30 in Dallas, TX on October 5th, 2024. Police say it happened around 4:50 a.m. According to investigators, a Hyundai Elantra headed westbound is said to have collided with a tractor-trailer that was disabled in a left lane of travel. Officials say a Dodge Charger was allegedly following too closely behind the Hyundai, and clipped part of the vehicle following the initial collision. Reports say the driver of the Hyundai, identified as 34-year-old Yaranely Garcia, was fatally injured. There were no other reported injuries, police say.
