Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 83 in Roma, TX on May 22nd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:54 a.m. According to investigators, a GMC Terrain operated by 28-year-old Yarel De La Cruz was headed southbound on JC Ramirez while crossing Hwy US 83 when it veered from the road and crashed into a light pole. The impact caused serious injuries. Reports indicate that officers alleged suspicion of impairment at the scene and show a Public Intoxication charge was recommended and/or issued.
