What Happened

Texas Highway Patrol officials are investigating a collision that killed a pedestrian at TX 173 near Kerrville, TX on December 9th, 2021. Police are saying it happened sometime between 6 and 7 p.m. 34-year-old Yonathan Michael Tessema is believed to have been in the shoulder of TX 173 walking against traffic when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. The impact caused Tessema's body to be thrown into an area of the shoulder that was not easily visible and therefore was not located until the following day where he was pronounced dead at 7:32 a.m. The vehicle involved is said to not have remained at the scene to render aid or call authorities and police are searching for the driver involved.
