What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a collision that killed a driver at I-10 in Sutton County, TX on October 11th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 5:20 a.m. A tractor-trailer headed eastbound is said to have struck a guardrail before entering into westbound lanes. There is struck a second tractor-trailer operated by 32-year-old Yuniel Maximo Escalona. Escalona suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Investigators believe he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The other driver, Mandeep Singh, was not injured.
