What Happened

Area authorities have information on a crash that injured a driver at Loop 256 in Palestine, TX on October 2nd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 4:08 a.m. A Chevrolet Silverado operated by 22-year-old Zane Porter was headed southbound on Loop 256 when it reportedly veered from the road over across northbound traffic before crashing into a traffic signal light pole. Responding officers say that Porter allegedly admitted to paramedics at the scene that he had been drinking previously and a blood draw was performed once Porter was hospitalized for his serious injuries. He was issued a charge for Driving While Intoxicated.
