What Happened

Utah Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a man at US 91 in Richmond, UT on January 26th, 2024. Police say the incident occurred just after 6:30 a.m. According to officials, a tractor-trailer was in the process of turning right to travel southbound on US 91 when it collided with a Ford Taurus. Reports indicate the Ford struck the rear of the truck as the truck was merging in an outside lane. The truck was allegedly traveling at a low rate of speed with active emergency lighting at the time of the collision, reports say. The driver of the Ford, a 34-year-old Franklin man who was not publicly identified, died from his injuries while en-route to an area hospital. The other driver was not injured, according to officials. Additional information was not available.
