What Happened

Utah Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed three people at I-15 in Box Elder County, UT on March 27th, 2023. Police say the incident happened as traffic began to fog. A semi-truck approaching the slowing vehicles is said to have collided with the rear of a passenger car, pushing it into the path of a van and two semi-trucks. The driver of the passenger car and one of the truck drivers involved suffered fatal injuries. Two of the victims were lated identified as 76-year-old Lewis H. Tarrant and 72-year-old Eileen Riordan. A passenger in one of the vehicle was hospitalized in critical condition.
