Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at I-15 in Salt Lake City, UT on January 4th, 2024. Police say the incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. According to investigators, a northbound semi-truck is alleged to have veered from the road before losing control while attempting to return to the road. The vehicle is said to have overturned onto its side as a northbound Honda Civic approached. Reports say the Honda collided with an overturned truck as it blocked northbound lanes, leaving the driver and a front seat passenger fatally injured. A rear seat passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries, reports say.
