What Happened

Utah Highway Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a woman at  I-15 near Kanarraville, UT on December 26th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 6:27 p.m. A commercial service truck is said to have collided with the rear of a northbound Nissan Sentra. The impact sent the truck veering from the road where it overturned into a median. The Nissan was pinned against a cable barrier and the driver, identified as 37-year-old Sonia J. Sainz Carrasco, suffered serious injuries. She was taken to an area hospital and later died. The driver of the commercial truck was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
