What Happened

State Police have details on a crash that killed a man at I-95 in Stafford, VA on February 17th, 2022. Police say the incident began when a tractor-trailer struck debris in the roadway left behind from a previous crash. The truck was pulled over to the shoulder so the driver could evaluate the vehicle for damage. A passenger in the truck, 39-year-old Brian A. Brown, exited the sleeper cab of the truck as it was stopped. Investigators say the driver had been unaware that Brown exited the vehicle and once the truck began to pull away, it struck Brown. The truck came to an immediate stop and Brown was taken to an area hospital, dying from his injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
