Virginia State Police are investigating a crash that killed a child at Route 29 in Nelson County, VA on December 25th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 6:06 p.m. A Honda Odyssey reportedly collided with a deer in the road before being struck in the rear by a tractor-trailer traveling behind. The five occupants of the Honda were hospitalized and one, an 8-year-old child, later died from her injuries. The driver of the truck was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
