What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at Prosperity Ave in Merrifield, VA on December 6th, 2022. Police are saying the crash happened around 7:02 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer performing a left turn onto Prosperity Ave was struck by a northbound Nissan 350Z. It has been alleged that the Nissan was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision. Officers say the driver of the Nissan, identified as 19-year-old David Mendez Hernandez, stuffed fatal injuries from the crash. The condition of the other driver was not revealed.
