What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-64 in James City County, VA on October 4th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 3 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by Wayne Norwood reportedly veered from the road due to driver inattention before attempting to return to the road. In order to avoid a collision with a dump truck, the tractor-trailer attempted to swerve but was unable to do so and hit the dump truck. The driver of the dump truck, Latoya Johnson, suffered minor injuries. Norwood reportedly refused medical treatment and faces charged for reckless driving and failure to maintain proper control of a vehicle.
