State Police are investigating a collision that killed a person at I-85 in Brunswick, VA on December 7th, 2021. Officials say a Chevrolet Malibu was spotted by an officer around 6:35 a.m. with front-end damage. The driver was found to not be in the area, according to reports. Around 8:32 a.m., investigators say a call was received about a pedestrian in the roadway near Grandy Rd. The pedestrian, identified as 27-year-old Shameek Price, was about 2.5 miles away from the abandoned Malibu and found with fatal injuries. Police say Price had previously been able to call his mother with information about having been hit by a tractor-trailer, however they gave no additional information.
