What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that injured three people at  I-95 in Hanover County, VA on July 16th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1 a.m. The tandem tires of a tractor-trailer reportedly came off as it was headed northbound. The tires then struck a Honda Passport and second truck headed south. Three people in the Honda were hospitalized with injuries, one of whom had life-threatening injuries. The driver of the second truck was not injured. The driver of the truck that lost the tires left the scene and was unable to be located.
