What Happened

Washington State Patrol officials are investigating a collision that killed a person at I-5 in Lakewood, WA on October 27th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:10 a.m. A pickup truck headed south in a left lane reportedly crossed multiple lanes of traffic before it collided with the rear of a semi-truck stopped in a right shoulder. The pickup also struck another vehicle and the driver, 61-year-old Derel N. Boggs, was pronounced dead at the scene. Additional information was not immediately available.
