What Happened

State Police are investigating a crash that killed two people at  I-82 near Kennewick, WA on July 1st, 2021. Police say the incident happened when an SUV operated by 63-year-old Maria Diaz De Benitez veered into a guardrail. It then overcorrected and went over the guardrail, going down an embankment and overturning. Benietez and a passenger, 54-year-old Andrews Cabrales, suffered fatal injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
