What Happened

Grant County Police are investigating a collision that killed a driver at Rd 11 SW in Royal City, WA on August 5th, 2021. Police say the incident involved a Nissan Murano operated by 45-year-old Perfecto Rojas Mejia reportedly pulled into the path of a flatbed truck. The impact pushed the vehicle from the road and caused it to overturn. Mejia suffered fatal injuries at the scene. A passenger, 58-year-old Romeo Velasquez Diaz, was taken to an area hospital and also died. The truck driver was not injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
