What Happened

Washington Police are investigating a crash that killed a woman at State Route 28 near Palisades, WA on January 13th, 2022. Police say the incident happened as 28-year-old Taylor Fukuzawa was helping remove an injured deer from the roadway. Investigators say an eastbound box truck operated by 58-year-old Paul Hesselgesser collided with Fukuzawa around 6 p.m. She suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Hesselgesser was not injures and police do not believe alcohol was involved. Additional information was not available.
