What Happened

Area authorities arrested a driver in connection with a collision that injured a pedestrian at Route 19 in Lewis County, WV on December 6th, 2022. Police say a tractor-trailer operated by 29-year-old Catlin Bish was on Route 19 approaching a vehicle that was in the process of being loaded onto a flatbed in an opposite lane. As the truck approached, it struck a man flagging traffic away from the other lane, the impact sending the man over a guardrail. Following the collision, the truck continued driving without stopping to render aid before later pulling into a truck stop. Bish was later arrested on a charge of hit and run resulting in serious injury. The traffic flagger was hospitalized with serious injuries.
