What Happened

Wyoming State Patrol officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at I-80 in Casper, WY on August 15th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:22 p.m. A Honda CR-V was stopped in a left travel lane after having been involved in a previous collision. A passenger in the vehicle reportedly exited the vehicle to check on the driver in the other vehicle involved as a tractor-trailer approached. The truck reportedly attempted to swerve to miss the Honda and the trailer collided with the passenger, identified as 45-year-old Whasfia Darwich Watchman. Watchman suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Police had no additional information to share.
