Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a woman at Hughes St and 5th Ave in Amarillo, TX on August 13th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11:44 p.m. A Ford Fiesta operated by 23-year-old Laquashala Smith was headed southbound on Hughes St reportedly veering in and out of its lane before it collided head-on with a Chrysler 200 operated by a25-year-old Amarillo woman. The Amarillo woman suffered serious injuries in the collision. Smith was not injured and charged with Driving Under the Influence.
