Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at  State Hwy 172 in Jackson County, TX on September 2nd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 10:18 p.m. Investigators allege that a Toyota Corolla operated by 28-year-old Bret Drake reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign and drove into a tractor-trailer crossing an intersection. Drake was extricated from the vehicle and hospitalized with injuries that he died from the following day. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
