What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at  I-37 in Corpus Christi, TX on October 12th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12:34 p.m. A Dodge Ram 1500 operated by 53-year-old John Robert Vasquez is said to have struck a cement barrier while traveling in a left northbound lane of I-37. The impact caused the the truck to bounce off and struck an adjacent tractor-trailer in a middle lane. The Dodge hit the barrier once more before striking the side of the truck for a second time and veering from the road. Vasquez suffered serious injuries in the crash while the other driver was not injured.
