What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a child at State Loop 1604 and Potranco Rd in San Antonio, TX on March 18th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:19 a.m. A Dodge 1500 operated by 58-year-old Miguel Medrano was headed northbound on Loop 1604 when, according to investigators, Medrano blacked out behind the wheel. It then veered from the road into a shoulder and struck a guardrail. An 11-year-old child in the vehicle suffered serious injuries. Medrano was not injured and records indicate a DWI W/Child charge was recommended and/or issued.
