What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-45 in Corsicana, TX on July 16th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 4:07 p.m. According to investigators, a Nissan Murano operated by 41-year-old William Terry Proctor was headed northbound when it reportedly failed to control its speed and performed an unsafe lane change. Officials say the vehicle crossed multiple lanes after striking a tractor-trailer and resting in a west ditch. Proctor serious injuries in the crash. The other driver, a 33-year-old Mesquite man, was not injured. Reports indicate responding officers suspected alcohol involvement and that a Failure to Control Speed charge was recommended and/or issued.
