What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-45 in Walker County, TX on June 29th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:01 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 36-year-old Grand Prairie man was headed southbound on I-45 before allegedly veering from its lane into an outside shoulder. There, police say the truck struck a Chevrolet Silverado that was parked on the shoulder, due to having run out of fuel. The operator of the Chevrolet, identified as 30-year-old Steven Derrick Delgado, suffered suspected serious injuries in the collision. The Grand Prairie man was evaluated for possible injuries and a citation for Failure to Drive in a Single Lane was recommended and/or issued.
