What Happened

Yates County Sheriff's Office officials have information on a crash that left at least two children injured at State Route 14 in Dresden, NY on August 22nd, 2023. Police say the incident happened as a vehicle operated by 37-year-old Brook Draper was stopped in a northbound lane in a work zone. Officials say the vehicle was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer operated by 59-year-old Randolph Fanuil, who allege the truck was following too closely. The collision left two of three children in Draper's vehicle with suspected non-life-threatening injuries. It was stated one of the children was airlifted for treatment. Police say Fanuil was ticketed and did not provide information on either Fanuil or Draper's conditions.
