What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at Fairmont Pkwy in La Porte, TX on October 17th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 3:03 p.m. According to investigators, a Hyundai Sonata was southbound on Farrington Blvd before allegedly attempting to turn right onto westbound Fairmont Pkwy. Reports allege the vehicle failed to yield at a red light before turning and colliding with a westbound Chevrolet Silverado. 23-year-old Hyundai passenger, Moesha Shields, suffered serious injuries in the crash. Shields died a short time after of those injuries, reports indicate. Reports also indicate the driver of the Silverado, who was not publicly identified, suffered non-life-threatening injuries while two others involved had possible injuries.
