Harris County Sheriff's Office authorities have information on a crash that killed a motorcyclist at Crosby Fwy in Harris County, TX on January 18th, 2024. Police are saying it happened around 2:03 p.m. According to investigates, a tanker truck was headed eastbound in a right turn lane as a motorcycle headed eastbound in an improved shoulder. Reports allege the truck came to a stop at a posted stop sign before proceeding to make a right turn at Miller Rd. Authorities allege the motorcycle ran the stop sign, colliding with the side of the truck as it turned. The motorcyclist, identified as Eric Mahaffey, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Police allege the truck operator, who remained at the scene for police to arrive, did not display signs of intoxication at the time of the crash. Additional information was not available.
